I stumbled upon this while looking for another book that was recommended to me and it was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time! “Dark” doesn’t even begin to describe it. Set in a hidden community where women are slaves, their bodies commodities to trade and abuse, Slave Vicolette’s master has just been found dead. Murdered. Slave Vicolette’s life has become even more worthless than before. Her master dead, the only thing she has ever owned, has been taken from her. Slave Vicolette is no more. Now 24690 is another unowned slave without even virginity to offer. But someone else is interested in 24690. Someone powerful. And his interest could bring her lower than even she ever imagined.
